My name is Cyra Schmitt. Ever since I was a young child I have been drawn to animals and wanting to care for them. Growing up in Portland, Oregon, I was the girl in the neighborhood who would always care for neighbors pets when they were away. I absolutely loved being around animals. As I got older, I would volunteer at animal shelters just so I could be around many animals that needed love. It brought me so much happiness to make them feel wanted when they felt alone.
